Call in Sick is a modern British punk rock band based in Portsmouth, delivering raw energy and socially charged anthems that resonate with fans of UK Subs, Cock Sparrer, and the Sex Pistols.
Founded in 2020 as a one-man project to channel frustration with the world and tackle mental health struggles, Call in Sick began as a solo act fueled by passion for the classic UK punk scene. After years of performing alone, the project evolved in 2024 into a full band following the founder’s battle with thyroid cancer—a life-changing experience that altered both his voice and perspective.
Now a powerful quartet featuring Dan on bass, Paul on vocals and guitar, and Jim on drums, Call in Sick creates music that’s unapologetic, gritty, and deeply personal. Their debut single, "My Nan Is Cold," takes aim at societal injustice with sharp lyrics and infectious punk energy.
With roots in rebellion and a commitment to authenticity, Call in Sick is a voice for the voiceless and a rallying cry for those ready to keep punk alive.
